From a management perspective, Apache Security Services has a personal and deep appreciation for the rich history of South Africa’s wildlife and agricultural environment. The on-going poaching as well as the violent farm attacks that plague our country needs to be stopped. We, therefore, created our Farm Security Units which are comprised of specialist “foot soldiers” and anti-poaching members, specifically deployed to assist farmers, game lodges, etc. to combat and prevent these problems.

Farm security cannot be taken lightly and requires dedicated commitment from the practitioners putting their lives on the line to provide a service. Our farm protection units and anti-poaching teams are equipped with state-of-the-art surveillance equipment and are armed with firearms and ammunition specifically required for this unique environment.

Our tactical approach consists of:

• Operatives live on site in camps or other accommodation.
• Air surveillance takes place with the aid of air drones.
• Vehicle and quad bike surveillance 24 hours a day.
• Perimeter inspections.
• Placing of traps and bush cameras, where needed.
• Thermal imaging equipment available upon request.
• Armed response to suspicious activity.
• 24 hour radio contact with base camp.
• Farmer/family escorts if required.
• Response to house/lodge alarms.
• Searching of suspicious vehicles in vicinity.
• Tracking.
• Liaison with local law enforcement.
• Vetting of all farm staff (criminal record checks).
• Undercover deployment where required.
• Community protection forums established by ourselves.
• Foot patrols.
